Nazareth / Nasaret

Nazareth is situated halfway between the Mediterranean Sea in the west and the Sea of Galilee in the east.

It is the town where Joseph and Mary lived and where Jesus grew up (Matthew 2:23; Luke 2:39-40).

Jesus spent most of His youth here and His first ever recorded message was delivered here (Luke 4:17-27).   The residents of Nazareth drove Him out of the town (Luke 4:29-30).

Nazareth was an obscure settlement of no significance (John 1:46).

There are a few significant buildings in the city for example the Church of Annunciation, Church of St. Joseph, and an ancient synagogue dating back to the time of the Lord Jesus Christ.
