Garden of Gethsemane / Getsemane

Next to the Church of All Nations, at the foot of the hill is the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was betrayed and arrested.  The Olive Trees in the garden are believed to be around 2000 years old.

Gethsemane, on the western slopes of the Mount of Olives, is named after an olive press which used to stand in the garden.

Jesus and His disciples often went to the gardens to be alone (Luke 22:39).

Jesus prayed and anguished here about His coming suffering, His sweat fell like drops of blood and He was arrested here (Matthew 26:36-56, Luke 22:33-46, John 18:1-11).

The Church of All Nations is built next to the gardens, over the place where Jesus is said to have anguished in prayer.
